Crystale Siew Ying Lim

Biography

Crystale Siew Ying Lim is currently an Associate Professor at UCSI University, Faculty of Applied Sciences. She is also the Vice President of the Malaysian Society of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MSMBB). She has received BSc in Biomedical Sciences (2005) and a PhD in Molecular Medicine (2010), both from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Putra Malaysia (UPM). She is a recipient of the John David Williams Memorial Award from the International Society of Chemotherapy in 2013 and is active in science education among schoolchildren. Currently, she is interested in antibiotic resistance in the general community and is the team leader of a project under the Antibiotics Resistance Awareness Stewardship of Malaysia to study antibiotic appropriateness in the private primary care setting.

Debabrata Biswas

Biography

Debabrata Biswas is a leading scientist at University of Maryland, USA. He completed PhD from University of Tokyo. His research projects focused on the reduction of pre- and post-harvest levels of colonization and contamination these foodborne bacterial pathogens in foods specifically meat and meat products and development of vaccines that prevent colonization of animals by E. coli O157, C. jejuni and Salmonella enterica species which may reduce human gastrointestinal infections.

Research Interest

Debabrata Biswas research interests include Pathogens transmitted from animals to human via contaminated food and water cause up to 33 million cases (>50% of human infectious diseases) of reported illness each year in North America. Six bacterial species including Campylobacter jejuni, Enerohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), non-typhoid Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium perfringens and Staphylococcus aureus account for over one half of the illness.

 

Ahmed Gaffer Hegazi

Ahmed Gaffer Hegazi

Biography

Ahmed Gaffer Hegazi is currently a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology in the National Research Center, Egypt. Hegazi received his masters degree in 1979 and his PhD in 1981. Hegazis research work has been focused lately on bee products and their therapeutic effects. Hegazi organized and contributed to national and international research projects since 1977 and up till now he has been the principal investigator on multiple research projects within the National Research Center. He has published 222 scientific papers and articles in national and international journals. He also served on the board of multiple national and international scientific journals. Hegazi is also the president of the Egyptian Environmental Society for Uses and Production of Bee Products, secretary of the Egyptian Society of Apitherapy, secretary general of the African Federation of Apiculture Associations and a member of the International Apitherapy Commission (APIMONDIA).

Biography

Gamil Sayed Gamil Zeedan is currently an Associate Professor at National Research Center (NRC), Cairo, Egypt. He obtained PhD in Virology, from Cairo University, Egypt, MVSCs Virology, Cairo University, BVSCs, Cairo University. He was Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Virology at Collage of Medicine and Applied Medical sciences, Northern Border University (NBU) Saudi Arabia in teaching the following courses Medical Microbiology and Virology, Diagnostic Microbiology, Clinical Rotation of Microbiology and Clinical Rotation Immunology & Virology. Title of supervised projects: Development of a Therapeutic Vaccine against Hepatitis B Virus - Incidence of hepatitis A, B, C, D and E in Saudi Arabia -The laboratory diagnosis of hepatitis B Virus-Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection testing technologies & strategies -Hepatitis C virus virological studies and diagnosis of liver diseases.

Sunil K Mukherjee

Biography

Sunil K Mukherjee was trained as a physicist but switched to molecular biology after Ph.D. He Worked as a former head in the Plant Molecular Biology group of ‘International Center for Genetic engineering and Biotechnology’, New Delhi. He has published about a hundred and twenty scientific articles in the internationally peer-reviewed journals in the long span of 30 years of research profession. Developed small RNA overproducing transgenic tomatoes that resist the deadly tomato leaf curl virus (ToLCV) has been elected as a fellow (FNA, FASc., FNASc.) of all three top established Science Academies of India. He Served as a member of research advisory committees of several research institutes and a task-force member of funding agencies in India. He has been serving as an editorial board member of six Science journals. Sunil K Mukherjee selected for Lifetime Achievement Award among 30 best Researchers in “202nd International Research Awards on Engineering, Science and Management” organized by IOSRD. Currently he is working as an INSA Senior Scientist at IARI post superannuation.
